Madonna Plants A Tree At New Academy
Madonna is currently in Malawi for the groundbreaking of her new Academy for Girls school. We’ve been following her efforts to bring a school to the Southern African country ever since she announced the ambitious plans back in May of last year. Today, the 51-year-old planted a Moringa tree, also known as the “miracle tree” for its cure of many diseases.

From throwing her own eco-friendly baby shower to running her tour buses on biodiesel fuel, musician Sheryl Crow has made her passion for the environment as much of a priority as she's made her songwriting. That's why the U.S. Green Building Council enlisted her as the opening act for the 2009 Greenbuild Conference, which runs November 11-13 in Phoenix, Arizona.

To help encourage environmentally-friendly building, Brad Pitt, along with Global Green, announced a sustainable design architectural competition for the areas of New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina. It drew 3000 registrants from all over the world, six finalists were chosen. Who made a big "Splash" in the 1984 film co-starring Tom Hanks,
is also making waves in the environmental movement. Hannah's current
project is DH Love Life, a Web site and weekly blog dedicated to
promoting tips and awareness about energy and environmental awareness.
In 2004 and 2006, Hannah won several environmental awards, including
the "Environmental Activism Award." Ms. Hannah has been using biodiesel
for five years to fuel her 1983 Chevy El Camino.
